Paul Monroe – Principal
Paul has over 20 years of live entertainment and sports marketing experience. He has worked in senior level marketing roles for the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks and Lone Star Park at Grand Prairie. His responsibilities included oversight of all marketing & advertising initiatives, handling corporate partnership and ticketing programs, game/race day presentation, community & public relations, broadcast and digital initiatives. During his tenure with the Mavs, the team made two NBA Finals appearances and won the 2011 NBA Championship. Prior to the Dallas Mavericks and Thoroughbred Horse Racing experience he began his career in live entertainment as a Regional Marketing and Sales Director for Feld Entertainment, widely known as the foremost live, family entertainment company in the world, touting Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus and Disney On Ice. There, he was responsible for overseeing all marketing & sales in over twenty markets throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Paul has also taught an Advanced Sports Communication course at Southern Methodist University. He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Florida State University and MBA in marketing from The University of Texas at Dallas. Paul lives in Plano, Texas with his wife and two boys.
Paulette Hopkins – Public Relations
Paulette Hopkins is a creative senior marketing and communications executive with expertise in the entertainment and sports sector leading integrated communications, marketing strategy, and campaigns. A strategic and progressive thinker, she possesses strong media relationships, excellent client management skills and an understanding of and application within the new media ecosystem. Hopkins is able to develop and implement fully integrated, multichannel strategic marketing and promotional campaigns designed to build awareness, engage fans, and drive desired results.
Hopkins has worked with the Host Broadcaster for the World Cup and Olympics and was Vice President at Dallas Summer Musicals for over 21 years where she directed all marketing, communications, and patron service efforts for DSM and Music Hall at Fair Park, including brand, national tours, education, development, outreach programs, 3rd party rentals, and produced annual sales of over $20 million.
Hopkins opened Bluspark in 2019 whose client list has included Orangetheory Fitness, Volleyball Nations League, Cirque du Soleil, MasterChef Junior Live!, Paw Patrol, Trolls LIVE!, Dallas Sidekicks, Jurassic World: The Exhibition, His Story: The Musical, and more.
Growing up in Houston, Texas, with parents in professional sports and media, I developed a passion for sales and marketing. After gaining experience in promotions and marketing with Moet Hennessy, I secured an ad sales position at a well-known local sports radio station in DFW. Through extensive training in radio, digital advertising, and marketing, I honed my skills in target audience scheduling, rate negotiation, spot production, and athlete collaborations.
In 2014, I founded a full-service advertising and media agency specializing in sports marketing. Recognizing the potential to help clients further by working with all radio stations, digital platforms, billboards, local network and cable television, and streaming television, my agency, Costa Advertising and Marketing, has expanded its services to support the growth of all local businesses, regardless of their target demographic.
